Story
O-OOOO1 was built as a prototype automaton and sent to planet MBS-02 as a test vehicle for investigators and Operative Automaton designs. After cutting off communication with Opton's rulers, the lone prototype was left to explore the planet and dictate orders to its own will. There, he became the closest ally of FOX legend Sir Alux, who directly protected and served the King. It was Alux who bestowed the name "O-One" on a disposable soldier. After the planet's liberation, the mercenary locally known as The Smiling Opton witnessed Alux's agonizing death at the hands of the planet's infectious nanites, and despite being traumatized, escaped as one of the few survivors. After years of exploration and training to overclock his body's energy output at the cost of his lifespan, O-One became isolated as a hermit, unable to find purpose. He wields an exact replica of Sir Alux's longsword, which he learned from the fighting style of his former comrades, and he also wears a hat similar to the one worn by Alux.
As the Opton War with the FOX Empire intensified and his presence became widely known, it was inevitable that he would be found, respected, and asked to help in the war effort as a survivor of the MBS Incident. Although he was unwavering and had no reason to join the Galactic Empire, he made a solemn oath. I will live as long as the empire I was born into. Neither long nor short. Perhaps it was the question posed by Alux and his interest in the ``beings with conscience'' that his companions deeply respected that made him want to understand it.
